CAROLYN F. CUKIER, a native of Brooklyn, NY, who resided in Sunrise Senior Living in Cohasset, passed away on Thursday, June 13th at 89 years of age.Carolyn, daughter Jack & Sylvia (Kaplan) Max was a devoted sister to younger brother Stephen, whose Down’s Syndrome defined her indefatigable, charity work with the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (now known as AHRC). Carolyn was married to Sam Cukier for 64 extraordinary years, dancing for most of them, until his passing in 2017. Together they raised three daughters – Jody, Laura and Jill. She was the cherished grandmother of Zachery, Jessica, Sylvan and the late Julia. Carolyn is survived by her daughters Jody Cukier (husband, Brett Simon), Laura Rosenthal (husband, Paul Rosenthal) and Jill Pappalardo, grandchildren Jessica Newton (partner Ken Taylor), Zachary Rosenthal (wife Lisa), Sylvan Pappalardo, and great-granddaughter Wells Newton.It could be said that Carolyn was quite a character, whose humor, spirit and smile lit up a room. She adored music, live performance and danced in many community productions.Funeral services for Carolyn will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton, on Sunday, June 16th at 11:00AM. Shiva/Memorial Observance immediately following at the home of Laura and Paul Rosenthal.A graveside funeral and burial service, on a date to be determined, will be held at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, FL.
