Beatrice Saftler December 7, 2024

Date of Funeral

December 10, 2024

Beatrice Saftler, 95, of Westwood MA, passed away on December 7, 2024.  In death she joins her beloved husband Fred with whom she was married for over half a century. Beatrice and Fred shared a loving relationship and a life full of friends, family and fun in Brockton and in Falmouth.

A devoted daughter of the late Max and Sarah Green, Beatrice had three siblings, Joe Green, Stanley Green and the late Shirley Malins. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her loving children Roberta and Michael Ward of West Bridgewater, Ellen and Bob Baker of Needham, Faith and Bob Savage of Natick and Eric and Penny Saftler of Foxboro. She also leaves her adoring grandchildren Jonathan, Rachel, David, Zoe and Lisa.

A trip to grandma or Aunt Bea’s house was sure to be filled with great times and fabulous food. She graciously hosted innumerable holiday dinners with family and friends filling every seat of the extended and added tables on Bigney Ave. She was a game player extraordinaire, a seamstress with multiple projects ongoing, a gardener, a night owl, always in motion and always productive.

She walked quickly, bowled competitively and enjoyed many types of exercise. Her many loves included the beach, golfing and mahjong.

Bea and Fred shared a close knit group of longtime friends who travelled the world together.  Throughout her life, including her last years in memory care, she was known for her kindness, her quick wit and fine sense of humor.

Bea’s death will be observed with a private graveside service.
