Audrey Marilyn Levenson September 28, 2024

Date of Funeral

October 2, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Audrey Marilyn Levenson, on September 28, 2024, Elul 25, 5784.  She was born on September 3, 1932, in Brighton Massachusetts and lived a life rich with love and cherished memories.

Audrey was the adored daughter of Hyman and Lillian Levy, and a devoted older sister to her brother Richard Levy, who survives her. As a child, she loved to dress up her dog “Queenie” and sneak her bits of food off the table despite her father’s admonishments. An exploit that all the dogs that crossed her future path got to enjoy.  Audrey’s close-knit family also included her dear aunt Lena and uncle Arthur, as well as her cherished grandmother Katie, who provided her with comfort and love until she passed away when Audrey was 10 years old.

She blossomed in her high school years, known for her striking red hair and captivating beauty that drew the attention of the opposite sex and led to her soon discarded high school dream of becoming a model. Popular with the boys, she spent many nights dancing at the Totem Dance Hall, a time of her life that was filled with carefree joy and laughter. However, on a blind date while attending Boston University she met the love of her life, Norman Levenson.  After a few dates and romantically written cards their connection became undeniable, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, travel and devotion. Norman’s untimely passing at 57 left a void although his memory was forever kept alive in her and her family’s heart.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Audrey’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her three loving children: Karen Levenson-Code of Toronto Canada, Aryeh and wife Kay Levenson of Anchorage Alaska and Elaine and husband David Michelson of Baltimore Maryland. Her heart was also filled with the joy of her five grandchildren: Noam, Leah, and Avichai Levenson, and Naomi Michelson and Eva and husband Ryan Brown. Audrey cherished every moment with them, and her love for them was boundless and unwavering.

In addition to her role as a mother and grandmother, Audrey found fulfillment in personal accomplishments. She earned her AA degree in interior design from Chamberlain Junior College and was honored as Woman of the Year in the Boston chapter of Hadassah. Her greatest enjoyment involved spending time with her family, the family’s beloved dog Inky, and later her grandchildren.  Some of her fondest memories were of summers spent in Marblehead, Massachusetts, where the family spent precious time together on their boat, the Kamarel, driving to the ports of Gloucester and Rockport while frequenting the beaches and restaurants along the way.

Audrey’s years were defined by a deep love for her children and grandchildren.

After the passing of her first husband Norman, Audrey found companionship again with Bernard Goodless, whom she married and shared over 20 years until his passing.

Audrey will be remembered for her radiant beauty, her strength, her wit, and the profound love she gave to those around her.   Though her absence leaves a deep void, we find comfort in knowing she lived a life filled with love and connection to her family. Her spirit will live on in all who knew her, and her memory will forever be a blessing.

May she now be forever together with her beloved husband Norman and parents whom she so deeply missed.
