Alvin L. Lipsky “Al” of Raleigh, NC formerly a longtime Wellesley resident, passed away on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at 98 years of age. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Benjamin & Augusta (Fingold) Lipsky. He grew up in Brookline with his younger brother Merritt. After high school, Al joined the Navy and played in the Navy Band. After his Honorable Discharge he joined the family real estate business as a Property Manager and Loan originator. Serving in those capacities until his retirement in 1992. Al was a wonderful and loving father to his daughters, Carolyn and Elisabeth, better known as Betsy, and to his identical twin stepsons, Phillip Katz and Steven Katz. Al played saxophone when he was young. After retirement, he took up music with a passion playing clarinet and saxophone with various jazz bands. He was a fine musician who joined the Concord Band as one of three Bass Clarinetists and became a longtime member. The Concord Band is a Concert Band affiliated with the Town of Concord, Massachusetts. In 2018 Al relocated to Raleigh, NC to be closer to his daughter Carolyn. Al is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Schulman & her late partner Paul and Betsy Rosenfield & her husband Eliot. He was the cherished grandfather of Samantha Rosenfield and Hailey Rosenfield. His stepsons, Phillip Katz & his wife Melissa and Steven Katz & his wife Victoria. Al was the cherished uncle to his seven nieces. A graveside funeral service will take place at Lindwood Memorial Park, 490 North Street, Randolph, on Friday, May 9th  at 10:AM. Following the burial, Shiva will be observed at The Kendrick Apartment Complex, 275 2nd Avenue, Needham until 4:PM.
