One of its Kind. a place of Serenity, peace, and refuge.
Where families gather for sympathy, support, and shared memories.
The Schlossberg Family's Chapel On the Hill is a Canton Historic Landmark built in 1897 by the Canton Historical Episcopal Congregation. The Schlossberg family purchased the property in the early 1970s and has nurtured and maintained as much of the Chapels' original detail as possible. The classic wood vaulted New England Chapel with original stained glass windows, medieval Spanish style chandeliers, and unique ceramic mural of the Wailing Wall seats over two hundred guests comfortably. The Chapel with its inverted ceiling in the form of a ship's hull and surrounding woodwork made of now extinct New England wormwood provides a sense of beauty and serenity unique among funeral homes in the state and the nation. The Chapel and its offices are certified handicapped accessible. The Schlossberg Family began a centennial renovation and restoration project of the interiors and the exteriors of the Chapel in 2020 ensuring that the Chapel On the Hill will be able to continue to provide the highest quality venue and services to our local families for decades to come.
