Alan “Al” Uliss was born in Boston and was a longtime resident of both Norwood and Millis.
He was a graduate of Boston Latin School, a veteran of the United States Air Force and holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering from Northeastern University. After working at Polaroid for 26 years, Al started his own computer consulting company which he maintained until he was 80 years old.
Al was a member of 3 engineering honor societies and served on the Norwood School Committee for 10 years. He loved to bowl, golf and play cribbage.
Al leaves his wife of 63 years, Joni (Sidell), his daughter Sheri (and her husband Rodney), granddaughters Haley, Alyssa and Kendal and his sister Karen (“Cookie”) (and her husband Ted) Abbett. He was predeceased by his brother Leslie.
Services will be held in the chapel at Sharon Memorial Park at 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA on Wednesday, May 27th at 10:00AM. Memorial observance will be held at his late residence immediately following the burial and continuing at noon (12PM) on both Thursday and Friday.
