Edward Cohen February 12, 1945 - January 20, 2026

Date of Funeral

January 23, 2026

Edward W. Cohen of Milton, MA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on January 21, 2026 at the age of 80.

Devoted son of Hyman J. Cohen and Mildred G. (Norman) Cohen. Dear brother of Beverly (Cohen) Parker and Joanne (Cohen) Platt and brothers-in-law Robert Parker and Robert Platt.

Ed leaves behind several cousins as well as beloved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews in addition to his many dear friends he met over the years.

Ed grew up in Mattapan before moving to Milton and graduated from Milton High School. Ed worked for the U.S. Postal Service at South Station for 37 years before retiring. He then lived in Canton for several years before moving to Fuller Village in Milton where he lived until his passing. He loved Fuller Village and his many friends and acquaintances he met over the years. He also participated in many of the activities there including pickleball, cornhole and bingo. He also sang in the chorus and helped with pancake breakfasts and summer events. Ed also had his own garden plot which he tended to every summer.

Most of all, he loved being with his family whether going out for Chinese food or pizza or spending time with his beloved nieces and nephews. The holidays were spent with family, and he celebrated his 80th birthday with a party last year. Ed also traveled to many places both near and far, which include Europe, the islands and Florida. He also loved to fish and go to the Sunday band concerts at Nantasket Beach. He belonged to the Cunningham Park Bowling League for many years and loved swimming at the pool there. His father and grandfather taught him many skills he could do with his hands which carried over to his job at the Post Office where he worked with many of the tradesmen there.

He was a gentle soul with a kind heart who had a genuine interest in people and was willing to help others in any way he could. That love was returned to him. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

His funeral service will be held at 11AM, Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street in Canton, with interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
