In Loving Memory of Robert Corman
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Robert Corman, of Stoughton, formerly of Sharon, at the age of 96. Robert passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025 after a celebratory Passover Seder with his loving family. He remained his bright, warm and funny self, right until his final hour.
Robert “Bobby” was the devoted son of the late Sonia and Abraham Corman. Born in Havana, Cuba on February 26, 1929, he came to the United States at the age of two and was raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
Robert was married to the love of his life and soul mate, Elaine Corman, with whom he shared 69 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2022. Together, they built a life grounded in love, family, and enduring partnership.
Bobby was a loving father to his three children: Steven (Johanna) Corman of Maine, Bradley Corman of Stoughton, and Lisa (Peter) Shactman of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He will be forever remembered as the cherished Papa/Grandpa Bobby to Silas Corman, Mayzie Corman, Jacob Shactman and Julia Shactman.
He was predeceased by his beloved siblings Rosita (George) Frieden, Albert (Beatrice) Corman, Eli (Lorraine) Corman, and Lorraine Minsky, and is survived by his brother-in-law, Burton Minsky. He leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
A proud veteran, Robert served with honor as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, seeing combat in 1951. He very often regaled his family and friends with tales of his years in the service.
He was the former owner of Corman’s Hotel in Sharon and then worked as a food salesman for S.W.B. Co. until his retirement.
An active member of the community, Robert was part of the Sharon Men’s Club, as well as the Disabled American Veterans, and the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Robert’s strength was his deep love for family and his remarkable gift for storytelling. His anecdotes were full of humor, heart, and family history—they were a treasured part of every gathering, and his presence filled the room with warmth and wisdom. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May his memory be a blessing.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton, MA. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon.
The family will be at Robert’s late residence immediately following the interment.
A special thank you to Bradley Corman, for his excellent caretaking, which allowed Robert the gift of remaining in the comfort of his own home.

April 15, 2025 at 1:27 amWhat a beautiful tribute to a very special person. I will always remember Bobby as a warm and caring man who loved his immediate as well as his extended family. As a child, I remember many happy visits to the hotel in Sharon. Bobby would play with us, while his Mom, Aunt Sonny, would always have something good for us in the kitchen. Bobby will be missed by many.
