Joanne (Shuman) Conlin of Plymouth MA, formerly of West Roxbury, entered into rest on January 16, 2025, after a short illness surrounded by family and friends.
The daughter of Alfred and Rosalind (Whitkin) Shuman, and devoted loving wife and companion to James Conlin. Mother of the late Hayley Savoy, a daughter of cherished memory. Joanne is survived by her brother Barry Shuman, and nephew Isaac Shuman. She also cared about and was an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Everyone has a story to tell, and each life is its own story. Joanne was an avid reader and interested in each unique story. She lived her life filled with passion for helping others. Joanne prided herself in her 35 year working relationship with Compassionate Friends, a nonprofit organization for grief stricken parents. But above all else she loved, and valued, quality time. From long walks on the beach to enjoying the company of everyone who knew, and cared about her, no one would be surprised that the feelings were mutual.
We continue sharing the love that Joanne fostered in those who knew her best on Monday January 20, 2025, at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill. 824 Washington Street Canton MA. Services will start at 11:30AM followed by interment at the Hebrew Volin cemetery on 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Followed by a celebration of life at the Chateau in Norwood. Donations in Joanne’s memory may be made to The Compassionate Friends Non-Profit Organization www.compassionatefriends.org.

January 18, 2025 at 3:18 amIf you mom hadn’t bought you that wild blouse in 7th grade we may never have been friends. We certainly shared laughs, tears and crazy stories over the years. May you finally be at peace together with Hayley. I will miss you.
