Isadore “Sonny” Freedman, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, at his home in Sharon. He was 100 years old. Sonny was born in Roxbury, MA, on May 21, 1924, to Lillian and Abraham Freedman. He was the big brother to Frances Broad, Stella Greene and Rhoda Lubin. Sonny spent his summers at Camp Emoh and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School in 1942. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and fought in WWII until 1945. He returned home and met the love of his life, Charlotte Krinsky. They were married in 1948, first living in Roxbury, then moving to Sharon in 1955. Sonny and Charlotte spent 76 years together, never apart. Sonny owned Veterans Auto Driving School before working in the garment industry until he retired in his sixties. Not busy enough in retirement, he went back to work at Spoontiques, a giftware company in Stoughton well into his 80’s. In his late 80’s, Sonny went to work at Sharon High School as a hall monitor, where he got to see his grandchildren every day. Sonny was an officer and a Board Member at Temple Adath in Sharon and was instrumental in it becoming a year round synagogue. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans, B’nai B’rith, and the Queen Acres Neighborhood Association. Sonny leaves behind his beloved wife, Charlotte, his children, Richard and Nancy, Paul and Patty, and Lois and Ken. Sonny’s legacy continues through his seven adoring grandchildren, Eric, Jacob, Kelcy, Michelle, Adam, Samantha, Josh, and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his many cousins, nieces and nephews. The Freedman family wishes to express their gratitude to VNA Hospice Care, Brockton VA, Hessco Elder Services and the Sharon Council on Aging. His funeral service will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton, on Sunday, December 1st, at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at Lindwood Memorial Park, 490 North Street, Randolph. . Following the burial, Shiva will be observed at the home of Lois Levine and Ken Miller, continuing Monday and Tuesday from 3:00PM – 7:00PM.
