October 27, 2024

Pearl June (Hessing) Lerner of Randolph, formerly of Sharon, loving and devoted wife and widow of Arthur Lerner for 76 years, passed away at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on October 22, 2024, surrounded by family. She was 98 years old.

Born in the Bronx, New York to her late parents, Clara and Max Hessing, she was a graduate of James Monroe High School. During World War II she worked in Manhattan. She married Arthur Lerner in New York in 1948 and became a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend for the rest of her life.

After moving to Sharon Massachusetts in 1965, she worked as an executive secretary at Cumberland Farms and subsequently started one of the first consignment stores, Wardrobe Exchange, in Canton. She was the President of the Young at Heart Senior group in Sharon. When she and Arthur moved to Simon Fireman Senior Housing in 2007 she worked to bring entertainers to that facility for the delight of the residents.

She was a loving mother to her three children, Gail Lerner, Karen Kurzberg and Bruce Lerner and to Karen’s husband Peter Kurzberg. She was proud of her wonderful grandchildren — Marc Kurzberg and his wife Amanda, Daniel Kurzberg and his wife Elyse, Andrea Dianni and Jazmine Lerner. She adored and took great delight in her great-grandchildren Bentley, Liam, Coraline, Emmy, Aria, Halle and Max.
