Lillian (Gesserman) Freedman, age 98, born in Somerville, formerly of Randolph, Tamarac, FL, and Brookline, passed away peacefully at Parlin Hospice House, Wayland on September 12, 2024.
Lillian was the beloved wife of Manuel Freedman for over 60 years, loving mother of Cheryl Freedman-Borrelli, and the late Dr. David Borrelli, Berton Dana Freedman and the late Anne Tirrito of Forest Hills, NY, Dr. Alan Freedman and his partner Angelina Greve of Los Angeles, CA, and Neal Freedman and his wife Michelle Freedman of North Easton.
Lillian loved her grandchildren: Jonah Borrelli and his wife Veronique, Anna Borrelli, Hannah Leah Freedman, and her fiance Nicholas Freberg, Myles Freedman, and Janna Freedman. Lillian called her two great grandchildren Anais and Clara “her darlings.”
Lillian is survived by her loving sister, Shirley Clemens Gan. She is predeceased by her brothers Abraham, and Samuel, and her sister Ruth.
In their later years, Lillian and Manny traveled to Great Britain, Paris, Denmark, and the US National Parks. Lillian enjoyed outings with her family to Nantasket Beach and Cape Cod. She loved to swim, was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing mahjong, canasta, and poker.
Funeral services will be held at Schlossberg Family’s Chapel on the Hill 824 Washington Street, Canton, MA on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 2pm. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park followed by Shiva at the home of her son Neal and daughter-in-law Michelle from 4pm-7pm. Shiva will continue at the home of her daughter Cheryl Freedman Borrelli on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 4pm-7pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Lillian Freedman to Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence 10 Green Way, Wayland, MA and/ or the Alzheimer’s Association
