Sandra Kream Zimon September 7, 2024

Date of Funeral

September 11, 2024

Sandra K. Zimon, 86 years young, of West Roxbury, passed away on September 7, 2024, at home, after a short illness. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. Richard Zimon, and her parents Maxwell and Jeanette Kream.

Sandra grew up in Brookline where she went to the Edith C. Baker School and graduated from Brookline High School in 1956. Shortly after her graduation from Lesley College in 1960, with a degree in Education, in 1960, she married Richard, her childhood sweetheart. While raising three young boys and supporting her husband’s successful medical practice as an internist and occupational medicine specialist, Sandra earned her masters degree in early childhood education, also from Lesley College, in 1982.

Among other important roles to her, Sandra was director of the preschool at the Jewish Community Center in Brookline from 1986-1992. She was especially proud of leading one of the first preschools to share space and collaborate with a senior center.

Sandra is survived by her three married children, son Jeffrey and his wife Jill, son Douglas and his wife Debbie and son Joshua and his wife Marianne Zimon, as well as her six grandchildren, Max, Raya, Matthew, Halle, Emma and Alana Zimon, and her brother Richard Kream and his wife Leslie.

Sandra formed lifelong friendships with many people she worked with at the JCC and throughout the communities she touched.

We thank Sandra’s caregivers, Jill, Erin, Melissa, and Carolyn for their warmth, compassion and caring for her.
