Stanley Friedman November 18, 2022

Stanley Friedman of Hingham, formerly of Jericho, New York, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Rose Court, Linden Ponds, at the age of 89. He was the devoted son of the late Henry & Yetta (Peisachowitz) Friedman and stepson to Hannah Friedman.

He was a Professor of English at Queens College, City University of New York, where he taught for more than 36 years, and previously served honorably in the U.S. Army. Stanley is survived by his loving family, including: his beloved wife of 55 years, Lita (Fine) Friedman; his son David, his partner Keren Rimon and her son Liam Rimon Kwintner; his son Jeremy and daughter-in-law Tracy Gerritsen; his grandsons Daniel and Robert Sun-Friedman; and his sister-in-law Barbara Friedman, who is the widow of Stanley’s dear brother Arthur Friedman.

A private funeral service will be held at Schlossberg Memorial Chapel, 824 Washington St., Canton, on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 2 pm. Family and friends may watch the service via Zoom.

Interment will take place on Tuesday, November 22 at 2 pm at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Shiva will be observed at Linden Ponds, in Birch Creek 410, on Wednesday, November 23 from 1 pm to 5 pm.

The family will hold a memorial service at Linden Ponds, Hingham, on Sunday, December 4, 2022, which will also be available for remote viewing by Zoom; details to follow.
