Judith Weiner September 29, 2022

Date of Funeral

October 7, 2022

Judith J. (Young) Weiner of Canton, MA, formerly of Del Ray Beach, Florida and previously from Randolph and Mattapan, passed away peacefully with loving family at her side at Milton Hospital on September 29, 2022.

Judith was born on July 4th in the West End section of Boston, to the late Morris and Anna (Katzen) Yelovitz.

Beloved wife of the late David L Weiner (58 years), sister of the late Leo Young, Fred Young, Henry Young and Gilbert Young, and many brother-and sister-in-laws.  Loving mother of Lesley and Michael Shain of Canton, and Carole and Michael Lelah of Illinois.

Judy was a loving Nana of Josh and Haley Lelah of Illinois, Adam and Michelle Shain of Sharon, Aliza Lelah and Geoff Davis of Colorado, Melanie and Adam Login of Connecticut, Danny Shain and Caitlin Golden of Sharon, Jonathan and Mallory Lelah of Illinois, Deb and Dustin Worthington of Natick, and Rachel Lelah of New York City.  She leaves behind her beloved 17 great grandchildren: David, Elizabeth, Dylan, Abigail, Rayne, Kian, Zachary, Everly, Finn, Vallyn, Ari, Ryder, Remi, Jack, Colin,  Morrie and Noah.  Also many loving cousins, nieces and nephews, and their families.

Judith loved life and the people in her life: “I like people and people like me.”  She worked hard all her life as a bookkeeper and salesgirl.  But her life’s work was her family. Nana loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her pleasure was in sending cards and always giving presents. She brought people together, always enjoying life. She came into the world like a firecracker on July 4th and lived her life like that, on her own terms. She loved cruising with her late husband and was an avid card player of bridge, mahjong, Pam, canasta and Hand and Foot at the Canton Senior Center.

Her biggest material love was clothes shopping. People would always comment, ‘another new outfit Judy’.  She loved it. Make-up, nails and toes and hair were high on her list. When she looked good she felt good- and she always looked good. One of her favorite expressions was-

“Powder and paint make a lady what she ain’t.”

And Judith loved her chocolate!!
