FAGIN, Wilma B. (Weisman)


of Chestnut Hill, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Wilma was the devoted daughter of the late Isadore & Frances (Shavitsky) Weisman; beloved wife of the late David Fagin.  She was a loving mother to Amy Fagin & husband Wayne Hachey of New Salem, Richard Fagin & wife Lisa Fagin of San Antonio, TX. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to Austin Hachey of Lexington, KY, and dear sister of the late Arthur Weisman and of the late Marilyn Kotler. Wilma was a dedicated employee of Bloomingdales in Chestnut Hill from its opening in 1973 until 2009.  She was a vital and active member of the Chestnut Hill community, volunteering her time in municipal activities and other civic duties.  She was an avid reader, and book club member.  She enjoyed travel, card games, mahjongg, and “words with friends”.  Wilma was a beloved, unique and exceptionally giving friend to many over the years.  She was an especially loving grandmother, and a deeply caring and devoted mother.  In her later years she greatly cherished and enjoyed the company of her friends and family.  She loved adventure, a clean house, and lived an exemplary life as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She will be greatly missed by her community of friends and beloved family.  Services will be at Schlossberg Memorial Chapel, 824 Washington St., Canton, on Friday, December 21 at 12:Noon. Burial will be private. Memorial observance will be held at 280 Boylston St, Chestnut Hill following the burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wilma’s name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 (www.Dana-farber.org/give).
