TOLL, Beatrice "Bea" (Wasserman)

of Newton passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, March 3, 2018. Bea was 95. She loved music, mahjong and all the Boston sports teams. Bea was an “old fashioned gal,” intensely devoted to her family: to her late husband Sam; to her three children and their spouses, Sandra & Tom Goodbody, Joan Toll and Jeff & Janice Toll; and to her grandchildren Nicholas, Caroline, Matt, Ben and Kayla. Bea relished celebrating Jewish Holidays and delighted in extended family gatherings. She loved being “Auntie” “Bubbe” and “Grandma Bea”. Bea was born November 20, 1922 in Worcester, the daughter of Sophie & Abe Wasserman and sister to Gladys Goldsmith. She grew up in Mattapan, attended Girls Latin School, and received her B.S. in chemistry at the University of Massachusetts. She lived with Sam in Newton, where they raised their children and were active members of Temple Emanuel and the Blue Hills Country Club. The family thanks Carla D’Antonio for her steadfast friendship and kindness. Graveside services will be held at the Agudath Israel Cemetery, 776 Baker St. West Roxbury on Friday, March 9 at 11:00AM followed by a memorial gathering at the Sheraton Needham Hotel, 100 Cabot St., Needham. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 800 West Cummings Park, Suite 3100, Woburn, MA 01801 or to your favorite charity.
