WERB, Linda I. (Gershkowitz)

a 45-year resident of Brockton died on Thursday, April 6, 2017. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late Leon and Dora Gershkowitz. Mrs. Werb attended Brooklyn College and spent her professional career as a teacher in religious schools in New Jersey, Brooklyn, NY and Virginia. She and her husband, Rabbi H. David Werb settled in Brockton when he became the rabbi at Temple Beth Emunah and where she taught in the Hebrew school for 36 years. Linda was an active member of the synagogue community with the Sisterhood and was also a member of Hadassah. She participated in the Catholic Jewish Dialogue at Stonehill College in Easton. In addition to her husband of 52 years she was the loving mother of Rachel Gross and her husband Scott, Shira Werb, Ari Werb and his wife Jane and Ezra Werb and his partner Laura. Cherished grandmother of Alexa, Max, Talia, Lyla, Haley and Jack. Dear sister of Rita Gordonson. Funeral services at Temple Beth Am, 871 N. Main St., Randolph, Sunday, April 9, at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at the Pride of Brockton Cemetery. Due to the Passover Holiday, following the burial, shiva will be observed at Temple Beth Am until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Beth Emunah, PO box 264, Easton, MA 02334.
